Are you successful? What does that word mean to you? Unlimited wealth, “toys” as far as the eye can see, or family gatherings at your cottage on the lake?

Success is a state of mind, and I would like to help you Succeed! Below are some dynamic belief steps to follow.

S – Start believing in yourself and what you do! Starting=beginning. If you wouldn’t have taken the risk and got on your bicycle for the first time, would you have the confidence that you do now as you mount your bike for a ride through town? This belief comes from within and turns your dreams and vision into reality!

U – Understand another's point of view. You don’t know it all, so don’t appear to. Put yourself in their shoes and listen. Have empathy. What does the other person want? What are they feeling? Block out your own feelings and the voice that has a response to their statements and truly “BE” with the one you are talking with. Don’t interrupt! Have you ever thought up the perfect response, so witty and smart, that it burst out of your mouth, only to stop the sentence coming out of the other person’s mouth. You missed them and possibly the sale or relationship. Have you ever truly been understood? It is the best feeling in the world. When you put yourself aside to put the other person first, that is true sacrifice and success.

C – Confidence isn’t a feeling, it is an action. You need to have it, even when you just don’t feel like you can!

C – Collaborate , share your successes, be vulnerable and share your mistakes. Be real! You will become a people magnet. Surround yourself with people you admire. Look for like minded people, people who have what you want, who believe as you believe! Find out how they got to where they are and then do the same. Billionare Ross Perot paid millions to attract the brightest to his company. Be people smart.

E – Exercise your brain and body. Read, read, read! Readers are leaders. Have you thought about that, it is true. The more you know, the more confident you feel and the more comfortable you feel collaborating with those who have what you want. Sound familiar? Run, run, run! Keep your body in shape. Make a list of the people you admire, who have what you want? What do they look like? Do they exercise or take care of their outer body as well as their mind and soul?

E- Encourage others! Your friends, family, business partners all deserve to hear praise. Dig deep to find something they are good at or have done well, then say it, write it, sing a song to it, whatever, just acknowledge it to that other person!

D- Determine to be better than who you are and you’ll be surprised at who you’ll become! Use the bulldog determination like the tortoise and the Hare. Even the snail made it to the ark. Determine not to quit, creatively begin again and again, and again!

How hard are you going to work? How bad do you want it! It isn’t that hard, just…

Start believing in yourself.
Understand another’s point of view.

Confidence – do it and then feel it!

Collaborate with those who have what you want.

Exercise your mind, body and soul.

Encourage others.

Determine to be better than who you are and you’ll be surprised at who you’ll become.

SAHM to Business Woman....

I'm a stay home mom of 3 energetic and creative children ages 13, 6, and 3. I've been a stay-at-home mom for 13 years, which I loved, but I began to crave an income of my own, adult connections outside my home and a way to utilize my creative side, yet still be home to raise my kids. And I've always wanted to own a business, I just didn't know what kind.

Every year, from early Spring through mid-fall, I would have garage sales and I just loved it! I guess I'm a people person. It's all about the "R" word for me, Relationships. I thought, "What if I could own my own business (that would meet that extra income I was looking for) that builds relationships with other people (this fulfills that adult interaction I was craving) and allows me to utilize my creativity". The "R" Thing

What matters most in life to you? Money, Time, Friends, Family? All of those topics have 1 common denominator, Relationships! Relationships are the key to being successful and living life to the fullest. When you work on Realtionships, the rest will follow.

What does that word mean to you? Does it have a deep emotional meaning and bring up feelings and memories of people who greatly touched your life? Or does it feel so far away and unattainable because you don’t feel you have the skills or the desire to develop them?

Hang in there with me and keep reading.

1. We are placed on this planet to connect with others not to be an island. If you are a runner, you understand the term “runner’s high”, that energy and euphoria you get from the endorphins that pulse through your body at the end of a run. When you give your full attention and connect with another person, Enjoy your “relationship high”.

2. Laugh at your mistakes. Instead of being so afraid of what others think of you, laugh, share, and realize that you have the choice to be embarrassed, angry, distant, or however you react, or you can laugh! Instead of pushing someone away or scaring them, you invite them to laugh with you and give an opportunity to connect. Sharing and being vulnerable makes you more approachable and real.

3. Be polite – Use your manners! This is a lost skill! Do you want to attract people to you or push them away? How do you feel when someone looks you in the eye and says, “Thank you” or “Please”? Write thank you notes. Give encouragement and compliments, even when you have to search for them, make them honest and sincere. People don’t care about what you have to say until they know you care about them.

4. Relationships are all about Listening!
L = Look them in the eye
I = Invest in people. Accept them for who they are.
S = STOP doing whatever else you are doing and focus on the other person as
you are with them.
T = Think about what THEY are saying, not about how you are going to
respond.
E = Empathize with them. How would you feel? How do you want to be treated?
N = Notice body language. Yours and theirs. Are your arms folded in front of you? Are you open to receive them or closed and fearful? Nothing feels so good as being understood!

5. Healthy Relationships build up, not tear down! This may be painful, but think about it, do you put people down to make yourself look better? Now, take comfort because at some time in our lives we have all done it. The question is, will you continue or are you ready to make a change?

Find a positive and focus on it whether in yourself, or with the person you are with. Give compliments and encouragement, don’t wait for them to be given to you. Procrastination is a relationship robber.

So what are you going to do to begin building relationships today?
Choose one area and begin to build on it. You have to be a prospector for relationships, get out there and "just do it"!
